10% pay rise for Sharjah government employees, retroactive from last January

Salaries of Sharjah government employees to be increased by 10% retroactively from January 2018

His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed the salaries of Sharjah government employees to be increased by 10% retroactively from the beginning of January 2018, it was reported on Saturday.

The pay rise also applies to non-UAE nationals working for the Sharjah government.

The government has allocated Dh600 million in the budget for this purpose, according to a press release by Sharjah Government Media Bureau.

Dr Tariq Sultan Bin Khadim, member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Directorate of Human Resources, made the announcement during an interview with Sharjah TV and Radio.

Based on the new pay structure, the Sharjah government will have eight grades.

Grade 8 has been fixed as the lowest grade with a minimum salary of Dh17,500 per month for employees who do not have a secondary school certificate.
