Abu Dhabi Committee for FNC elections holds first meeting

ABU DHABI, 30th March, 2019 (WAM) — The Election Committee of Abu Dhabi held its first meeting to discuss its agenda and preparations for the Federal National Council, FNC, elections in the emirate, this year.

Saif Ali Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Committee, said the body would spare no efforts to provide all necessary facilities and requirements requested by the National Election Committee to deliver the aspired goals.

He emphasised that the committee members would join forces to promote the culture of political participation so as to preserve national gains and advance the leadership’s vision for nation-building and development.

The meeting discussed mechanisms to streamline procedures for both candidates and voters and how to implement President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s decision to increase women’s representation in the 40-seat house to 50 percent.
