Abu Dhabi International Airport equipped for Haj pilgrims

With the annual Haj season around the corner, authorities at Abu Dhabi International Airport have taken a series of steps to help pilgrims.

The airport has put in place health and security measures, including dedicated check-in counters for flights to Mecca and Medina.

The Ministry of Health will be providing pilgrims with personal Haj kits and safety booklets, and a fully equipped clinic has been set up in Terminal 1 for emergency treatment.

“We have made the necessary arrangements to deploy additional staff at the dedicated clinic to ensure that anyone who requires medical assistance is dealt with swiftly and efficiently,” said Dr Matar Al Darmaki, the chief executive at Seha.

The airport is also collaborating with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, where muftis will be available to assist pilgrims, attend to their queries and advise them on religious and Haj matters.

Abu Dhabi Airport is implementing special arrival procedures to handle pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia with Zamzam water.
