Ajman Diabetes Conference discusses latest research

AJMAN, 29th April, 2018 (WAM) — The Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research, RCDR, and Shiekh Khalifa Medical City, Ajman, operated by the Swedish Global Health Partner, organised the 6th Regional Conference on Diabetes with the participation of more than 200 diabetologists, diabetes care physicians and researchers.

Dr. Joakim Bragd, MD, Rashid Centre for Diabetes and Research, said the Centre has made a breakthrough in the treatment of diabetes by managing blood sugar levels to more than 48 percent, while the normal level ranges between 38 and 44 percent.

The Centre, he added, received 31,000 diabetes patients last year.

The conference provided participants a platform to exchange ideas and enhance their skills and knowledge in the management of diabetes and control of its complications.

The main topic of the conference programme included the latest results in diabetes research, genetics and immunology, obesity management, customised therapy in Type 2 diabetes and diabetes complications.
