Aramex has signed a deal with Dubai-based NewBridge Pharmaceuticals (NBP) to further grow its healthcare brand internationally.
The shipping company signed a deal to provide a range of logistics services for NBP throughout the Middle East, Africa, Canada and the UK – with plans to open another facility hub in the US “soon”.
“This partnership with Aramex gives us significant opportunities to expand our business proposition and take advantage of the increasing demand for our solutions across the Middle East and Africa,” said Joe Henein, chief executive of NBP.
NBP provides medicinal products to healthcare facilities, focusing on commercialising innovative therapeutics approved by the US and European drug authorities.
These pharmaceuticals help those that are in need of critical medical attention, focusing on diseases with high prevalence within the Middle East and Africa.
Aramex will manage the shipping of patient samples across clinics and hospitals for advanced clinical testing while also providing temperature controlled storage and transportation of medication. The amount of the partnership was not disclosed.
“By working closely with NewBridge we are able to further penetrate the healthcare market, take advantage of the increased demand for logistics services in the pharmaceutical industry and better support people who require medicine and other pharmaceutical needs to be delivered to them effectively and efficiently,” said Hussein Hachem, chief executive of Aramex.
