At least 50 flights delayed as fog blankets Dubai

At least 50 flights leaving and arriving in Dubai International face delays early Thursday morning

Dubai: Flyers leaving and arriving in the UAE encountered some delays as thick fog disrupted airport operations early Thursday morning.

As of 8.03am, at least 50 outgoing and incoming flights at Dubai International Airport were bumped off for up to more than two hours, Dubai Airports’ flight tracker showed.

Use our Flight Tracker to check for affected flights.

Flights affected include those bound for Europe, United States, Asia and other countries in the Middle East. Passengers have been advised to check the status of their flight, especially those with departures before 11am.

“Severe fog in Dubai is causing disruption to some Emirates flights. Check you flight status for the latest information,” Emirates advised its customers on Twitter.

At least 30 departing flights encountering delays were originally scheduled to leave between 7am and 9:20am. For incoming flights, disruptions affected those arriving as early as 5am.
