Civil Defence begins connecting residential houses to its operations rooms based on VP’s directives

ABU DHABI, 22nd January, 2018 (WAM) — Major General Jassem Al Marzouqi, General Commander of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior, stressed that the General Command will immediately execute the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to connect residential houses and villas to its early warning system and to include those unable to afford the system for free.

Al Marzouqi expressed his gratitude to the wise leadership for following up on the tragic accident that occurred with the family of the deceased. On behalf of the General Command of the Civil Defence, he expressed his deep sorrow on the death of seven children of a national’s family in a fire accident and offered condolences for their tragic loss. He stressed that the leadership in the UAE takes the lead to strengthen the security and safety of the country’s residents, and today it offers to the whole world a unique example of giving and caring for its children.

Al Marzouqi asserted that the Civil Defence Command seeks to strengthen the procedures and requirements, and benefit from the variables and technological developments in its effort to preserve achievements and protect people and property.

He again called on the general public to follow the instructions and requirements of general protection and safety, and the necessity of installing fire protection devices, most importantly smoke and fire detectors, which have proven their effectiveness in giving an early warning for fires and consequently for the speed of reporting.

The Commander-General of Civil Defence at the same time called upon the necessity of increasing family supervision for children, and providing them with protection in all fields as an utmost priority. He pointed out that they are the pillars of the future and the foundation of development and there is a need to strengthen social responsibility towards protecting them.

He further stressed the expansion of current projects by the ministry’s bodies, which target strengthening of security and protection, including the “Hasantak” project, which is in its first stage. He underlined the efforts of the Civil Defence to follow the government directives in adjusting the work plan in the project to include residential villas and houses.

“We want to strengthen current partnerships and work with our government partners to guarantee strengthening of the secure environment for the country’s residents, and expand the protection umbrella with innovative and creative methods and with support from our wise leadership,” he added.
