Dar Al Ber honours 49 brilliant Quran memorisers

RAS AL KHAIMAH, 4th December, 2017 (WAM) — Dar Al Ber Society, DABS, Ras al-Khaimah Branch, has honoured 49 of its Quran memorisers in the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, under the sponsorship and in the presence of Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation, RAK.

The honourees, listed with Dar Al Ber, were graduates of the 5th course of the “Al Ber Quran Memorisation” project, according to Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society.

Sheikh Salem paid tribute to the pioneering programme and the tireless effort of DABS to encourage and support Quran memorisation and promote the authentic and merciful teachings of Islam nationwide.

The function, themed “Al Khair Seeds,” saw the presence of Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, a large number of senior officials, dignitaries, staffers, and the public.

Dar Al Ber has given accolades to Sheikh Salem in recognition of his relentless support to the Ras al- Khaimah branch of DABS.

The programme saw quantum leaps over the last years with a large number of male and female students becoming competent Quran memorisers and winning numerous prizes locally and abroad, Al Mazrouei said.

“The project, having run a variety of courses and workshops, taught so many Quran memorisers and trained lots of teachers. It has secured an advanced position in the UAE and worldwide,” he added.

Ali Al Shehi, Manager of the RAK Branch, said the “Al Khair Seeds” have been planted and grown by the Sheikhs and the founding forefathers, followed by their dedicated sons.

“The UAE is now on top of the entire world in terms of foreign aid. Dar Al Ber, following the same shining track, has expended some AED10 million on charity projects in 2017,” he said.
