Emirates Islamic Bank donates AED500,000 to Dar Al Ber

DUBAI, 25th March, 2018 (WAM) — The Emirates Islamic Bank donated AED500,000 to the “Al Mualafah Gloubahom,” New Muslims, project of Dar Al Ber society, as part of the bank’s activities under the umbrella of the Year of Zayed initiative.

The amount, donated for the third consecutive year, will be used for supporting those people who have embraced Islam recently and are registered with the society across the country. It will be used to help them lead a decent life.

The bank donated AED500,000 in 2016 and AED300,000 in 2017 to the society for the same purpose.

Awatif Al Harmoodi, General Executive Director of EI, and Ameenah Al Zarowni, Deputy Head of the Corporate Communications Department of EI, handed the cheque to Afrah Al Kathiri, Deputy Head of the society’s Islamic Information Centre, while visiting its premises at Al Dhyafah area in Dubai last Thursday.

Hisham Al Hashimi, Deputy Executive Director of the Society, thanked the bank on behalf of the society for the support provided to those who have converted to Islam recently. He said that the money will be used to fulfil their needs, help them follow the moderate teachings of Islam, feel tolerant towards others, and fight deviant ideas and terrorism, in line with directives of the wise leadership.

Rashid Al Jinaibi, Director of the Islamic Information Centre, also explained the annual activities and programmes sponsored by the centre to the visiting delegation.
