SHARJAH, 23rd May, 2022 (WAM) — The Expo Centre Sharjah announced its intention to boost the exhibition industry in the eastern region as part of its strategic plans, with the Jewels of Emirates Show being held for the first time at Expo Centre Khor Fakkan in December 2022.
During a recent meeting at Expo Khor Fakkan, the Expo Centre Sharjah reviewed its strategic plans to organise a series of specialised events over the coming term in order to revitalise the eastern region’s economic activity and meet the requirements and expectations of residents and visitors.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of an inspection visit led by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, and was attended by Khalil Al Mansouri, Director of Expo Khor Fakkan, along with several employees from Khor Fakkan centre.
In addition to reviewing key achievements made by Expo Khor Fakkan, the meeting discussed future development plans and strategies, as well as the events and exhibitions that would be organised and held in 2023.
“Expo Centre Sharjah is moving forward with a clear and well-planned strategy that includes development plans aimed at the exhibition industry in the eastern region. This is to keep up with the comprehensive development taking place in that part of the emirate,” Al Midfa stated, stressing that the meeting is part of the Centre’s ongoing efforts to forecast the future of the exhibition sector in the eastern region and develop Expo Khor Fakkan’s potential to hold specialised exhibitions.
“We are looking forward to organising events and exhibitions that can particularly bolster the recently launched development projects in the region, thus making a positive contribution to supporting the district’s economic environment, especially as Expo Khor Fakkan has accumulated vast experience over the past 10 years, which has led to consecutive successes,” he added.
For his part, Al Mansouri affirmed that the meeting has been a step in the right direction towards promoting the exhibition sector in the eastern region by hosting specialised exhibitions capable of adding value to the emirate’s economy and firmly supporting the internal commerce and tourism sectors.
Following the meeting’s culmination, Al Midfa toured Expo Khor Fakkan where he was introduced to the ongoing development projects in various departments and facilities.
