Emirati, 28 killed as vehicle crashes into truck

Police investigation revealed that the accident occurred due to speeding and lack of attention

Sharjah: A 28-year-old Emirati man was killed when his vehicle smashed into a truck on Sharjah-Al Dhaid road on Thursday afternoon, police said on Saturday.

Sharjah Police said the man was alone in the vehicle when it rammed into the rear of the truck.

The police operations room received a call on Thursday afternoon around 4pm reporting the incident on Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road.

The man, who identified S.R.B.K, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The police rescue team helped retrieve the victim from the badly mangled vehicle by cutting through metal using hydraulic equipment.

Police investigation revealed that the accident occurred due to speeding and lack of attention.

The body was taken to Al Dhaid hospital and later handed over to the victim’s family. The deceased was laid to rest on Friday.
