Emirati youth dies after losing control of car in Sharjah

Sharjah: An Emirati youth died on Tuesday morning after he lost control of his vehicle, which overturned and rammed into a truck, on the Emirates Road in Sharjah.

A police official said the accident was reported at 8am.

He died on the spot.

The body of the victim, identified as H.K.E.H., was transported to the hospital and later handed over to his family for burial.

An official investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah Police urged motorists to abide by traffic rules for their own safety. They called on drivers to take precautions while driving on wet roads that up the risks of an accident by loss of control and while being exposed to accidents between other vehicles.

The authorities also stressed the need to follow up on weather reports, especially during the current period which is rife with weather changes.

Truck drivers and heavy-duty vehicles travelling on highways have also been warned against overtaking others incorrectly and making sudden lane changes, and have been asked to ensure that their vehicles’ backlights and headlights are in working condition.
