SHABWA, 27th March, 2018 (WAM) — The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, opened today a training hall at the Education Office in the Shabwa Governorate after it rehabilitated and fitted it with furniture as part of the UAE’s assistance programme to rehabilitate vital sectors in Yemen.
Mohammed Al Muhairi, ERC Representative in Shabwa, said the ERC – under the directives of the UAE leadership – attaches proper attention to the education sector for the role it plays in the rebuilding of the state.
Mohammed Ali Lemls, Director of the Education Office in the Governorate, thanked the UAE and its humanitarian arm, the ERC, for rehabilitating the hall and fitted it with furniture, office equipment and audio-visual aids and educational materials, computers and projectors.
He said the UAE is supporting efforts to building and developing government and private institutions as parts of its initiatives to restore hope and address consequences resulted by the Houthi coup.
He added the UAE’s support for education and other humanitarian and relief assistance serves local population and meets requirements of educational infrastructure.
