ESMA launches training programme on ‘Energy Efficiency’

DUBAI, 2nd April, 2019 (WAM) — The Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, ESMA, in collaboration with and TAQATI, an initiative by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy,DSCE, to manage the Demand Side Management Strategy implementation, has launched its training programme aiming to equip sales personnel of major retailers and hypermarkets with the knowledge to better educate consumers about Energy Efficiency Labels of the authority that are displayed with electrical appliances. The 1st training were given to Carrefour personnel.

The training was attended by retail heads of all 29 branches of Carrefour across the UAE.

Dr. Yousef Al Saadi, ESMA’s Director of conformity Affairs Department, said that the awareness role played by ESMA and its partners is important to promote the concepts of energy conservation, especially as we now intend to form a generation of energy consumption ambassadors in the main outlets frequented by consumers, Informational experience to the public and adequately.
