Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, for Al Maktoum Foundation’s opening of two schools in Addis Ababa, which will offer students from poor and middle-class families the opportunity to learn.

“The Ethiopian Ministry of Education is sparing no efforts to reform the education sector; and thanks to the support provided by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, we are forging ahead to develop our education developmental plans,” said the minister.

“We’re laying a special focus on developing the English syllabus and looking forward to triple the number of outstanding students whose total score exceeds 90 percent,” he said, noting that the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum schools have the potential to help achieve this target on account of the distinctive results achieved over the past two school years.

The schools opened under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, in the presence of a delegation headed by Mirza Al Sayegh, member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid School in the Ayat district has a 405-student capacity and spans grades five to nine. It includes a computer lab that accommodates 40 students as well as a chemistry lab.
