Family rescued from villa fire in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Twenty six members of an Emirati family were rescued from a villa that was on fire in Abu Dhabi, Gulf News learnt on Friday.

No injuries were reported as Civil Defence evacuated the family members from their home, officials confirmed.

The fire broke out at their home in Al Samha area, on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi and the Civil Defence teams were sent to rescue them.

The fire broke out in a caravan bus, which was used by the family in its travels and it was parked in front of the home.

The fire spread rapidly due to strong winds and engulfed other vehicles, which were parked in front of the house and the majlis area and then reached the residential floors of the villa where the family resides.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defence is investigating the reasons behind the eruption of fire.
