FNC members meet with delegation from Business Executives for National Security

DUBAI, 14th February, 2018 (WAM) — Mohammed bin Kardous Al Ameri, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council, FNC, today met with a delegation from the Business Executives for National Security, BENS, led by Norton Schwartz, President of BENS, at the headquarters of the FNC General Secretariat, with the attendance of several FNC members.

At the start of the meeting, Al Ameri praised the overall bilateral relations between the UAE and the United States, US.

He also talked about the FNC’s role as a constitutional, legislative and supervisory institution in charge of discussing laws and topics related to the nation and its affairs while highlighting the co-operation and integration between the FNC and the country’s national authorities.

The FNC members, who participated in this meeting, confirmed the important role of the Council in the comprehensive development process in the country. They highlighted the keenness of the wise leadership led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to achieve comprehensive development in the country and promote areas of advanced sciences, scientific research, space and the technological, social and economic aspects.

General Schwartz stressed the close ties between the US and the UAE in all fields and hailed the international reputation of the UAE. He praised its role in achieving security and stability in the region and the world, highlighting the approach it follows in promoting values of coherence and co-existence.
