HSBC Mena appoints new chief executive

Georges Elhedery has been appointed chief executive for HSBC in the Middle East and North Africa, a step up from his previous position as the head of global banking and markets in Mena.

He replaces Mohammad Al Tuwaijri, who has left the bank to become the deputy minister for economy and planning in Saudi Arabia.

Dubai-based Mr Elhedery joined HSBC in 2005 from Goldman Sachs.
