DUBAI, 26th February, 2018 (WAM) — The 5th edition of The International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition, IFM, today opened at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, DHA.
In his opening speech, Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of the DHA, said, “As we commence this conference, we are pleased to extend our sincere gratitude to Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid for his patronage of this important annual event and H.H.’s keenness to follow up on the progress achieved in the medical sector.”
“Family medicine is also the basis for the dissemination and development of community awareness with healthy lifestyles; this reflects an important fact that emphasises the following idea – that the family doctor is the closest to the community and is a key provider of any preventive and therapeutic policies or plans that health institutions operate on and implement,” he added.
During the three-day event, IFM will host 63 speakers from the region and the world, and it will feature 14 scientific sessions and three specialised workshops, and will run until 28th February 2018.
