International tribute to UAE’s achievements in empowering people with Down Syndrome

DUBAI, 27th July 2018 (WAM) — The Executive Director of Down Syndrome International, DSI, Andrew Boys has praised the UAE’s distinguished achievements in the field of care, rehabilitation, empowerment and integration of people with Down syndrome.

During his visit to the UAE pavilion at the World Down Syndrome Congress, WDSC, in Glasgow, Scotland, Boys lauded the efforts made by the UAE to support people with Down Syndrome. He also predicted that the WDSC, to be held in Dubai in 2020, will be a unique event to reflect the UAE’s prestigious global position, especially as it hosts Expo 2020 Dubai.

The UAE delegation, headed by the Chairperson of Emirates Down Syndrome Association Dr. Manal Jaroor participated in several workshops and technical meetings specialised in caring for people with Down Syndrome, which was held on the sidelines of the WDSC 2018.

The State pavilion attracted delegates from the 64 participating countries and about 150 participants with Down Syndrome.
