Joy of Eid celebrated at Dubai Outlet Mall

DUBAI, 15th June, 2018 (WAM) — During Ramadan, the Dubai Outlet Mall and the Friends for Cancer Patients, FoCP, have provided several of latter’s patients with free Eid shopping.

The initiative, titled, “Joy of Eid-Making a Difference in this Year of Zayed,” is part of the mall’s commitment to the Year of Zayed, whose values include supporting people and communities in need.

As part of the initiative, the FoCP brought some of their patients to the mall while children gathered for iftar and were taken to the participating outlets and helped to pick new clothes, shoes, accessories and various items to celebrate Eid. Uber provided free transport to and from the retail outlet.

The mall is committed to giving back to the society and supporting local communities, to provide opportunities and positive experiences to good causes. The campaign is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure a joyous Eid for needy children around the country.

The initiative was supported by French Bakery, Chowking Orient Restaurant, Piero Pizza, Pasta and Grills, El Mondo Express, Curries and Grills, Noon-O-Kabab, Sacoor Outlet, Fashion for Less, Saucony Outlet, V Brand Gallery Outlet, Aster Pharmacy, Carter’s Outlet, US Polo Outlet, the Happy Place Outlet and Al Jaber Optical Outlet.

Following the shopping and iftar, the day ended with a dress-up event for the children at a “Pop Up” feature at the mall.

As part of the campaign, the mall, in association with some of its food and beverage outlets, provided local labour camp workers with iftar food boxes. Iftar packages were also handed out to taxi drivers who were at the mall during sunset.

The mall aimed to show its appreciation for their hard work while recognising that many of them are far away from their homes and loved ones, which can be difficult during Ramadan and Eid.
