ABU DHABI, 15th April, 2018 (WAM) — The fun-packed education roadshow ‘lema?’ is on course to reach more than 17,000 students as its Trimester Three Tour visits schools across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The STEM-based interactive roadshow, created and led by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, ADEK, reached a record number of students in Trimester Two during January and February with 24,208 pupils in 58 schools enjoying the inspirational sessions.

The latest six week tour of ‘lema?, which means ‘why?’ in Arabic, kicked off in Abu Dhabi on 8th April. It will then move onto the Al Dhafra Region from 22nd – 26th before rolling into the Al Ain Region from 29th April – 10th May and finally returning to Abu Dhabi for the last week from 13th – 17th May.

The third and final ‘lema? tour of the school year will see students take part in four interactive sessions - Secrets of Space, Radio Studio, Energy Future and Prepare for Takeoff. The Energy Future classes have been designed to offer an explosive science experience guaranteed to spark students’ curiosity about the world of energy.

Prepare for Takeoff is a dynamic workshop aimed at students who are curious about a career in aeronautics, while Radio Studio sees youngsters explore the world of communications. Secrets of Space, an all-time favourite part of the ‘lema?’ programme reveals the wonders of the cosmos with a stunning planetarium show.

Each year the number of schools eager to sign up increases, with sessions proving hugely popular with both children in Grades 3 to 7 and their teachers.

Operated by ADEK with the support of its Platinum Sponsor, Mubadala Investment Company, ‘lema?’ aims to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators, with tailored workshops designed to include schools and pupils of determination.
