JOB PURPOSE:
Kuwait Steel is been undergoing a Digital Transformation for the last 4 years and is in the process of upgrading its ERP environment to SAP S4Hana, SuccessFactors and Ariba .
The MES System Analyst will be responsible for the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) at Kuwait Steel.
Qualifications required:
Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree or related degree.
Experience
At least 5 years’ experience within an operational management systems environment, preferably within the process, mining, or manufacturing industry.
Working knowledge of the AspenTech suite of products.
Experience in formulating and entrenching technology (design and development) standards
Experience in Level 2, and Level 3 automation systems
Good knowledge in Siemen WinCC solution
Establishing communication with PLC’s, on-field instruments, and other external computers systems
Hand’s on experience in process workstation, operator workstation and human machine interface systems
Hand’s on experience in Siemen PLC programming, Simatic Step 7, and Ladder diagram
Requirements
Strong knowledge of application and development life cycles. Able to keep abreast with steel industry and technology trends. Good understanding of steel / mining / manufacturing environment, businesses, practices, trends, and information affecting a business. Analytical and assessment skills essential. Able to make sound decisions based on a mixture of analysis and experience. Able to think logically/ systematically and seek answers beyond the obvious. Understanding and utilising the deployment of technology. Understanding of technical processes that create waste in a process. Able to monitor, control and solve user problems and report on work progress to optimise output. Implementation experience in MES software Packages such as Aspentech, Wonderware, Siemens etc.

JOB KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Understanding and documenting the functional and technical requirements
- Design, build, test and deploy MES technical solutions within the company
- Interact with and exercise ICT practices within the business
- Relationship management between Business and IT
- Day to day management of the projects being deployed
- Evaluation, Development, Maintenance and Execution of MES systems as requested by the Business, inline with the over business and IT strategy
- Demand management, balancing demand and supply of services
- Participate during system solution planning, specification of technical design and development and project management of new solutions.
