The agreement aims to bolster preventive and safety measures in public facilities and homes
Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Interior and Etisalat have signed an agreement to use smart services in bolstering preventive and safety measures in public facilities as well as homes.
Lt-General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, attended the signing of the agreement in Abu Dhabi recently.
Major-General Jasem Mohammad Al Marzouqi, Commander of Civil Defence at the ministry, and Saleh Al Abdouli, chief executive officer of Etisalat Group, signed the agreement in the presence of a number of officials.
The agreement is part of the UAE government’s strategic plans for enhancing the preventive and safety measures in the civil sector, thus saving lives and properties.
As per the agreement, the two parties will work together for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems in homes and link them with the Civil Defence operations rooms.
They will also provide homes with fire alarm systems that work independently on a 24-hour basis even in the absence of electricity and Etilsalat services.
Al Marzouqi said the agreement is in line with the UAE government accelerators for emergency response time of the Civil Defence sector and improving the public safety measures and conditions being implemented at homes and commercial entities.
He also said that application for the installation of the new system could be done online through the ministry’s website.
