ABU DHABI, 27th August, 2018 (WAM) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) today celebrated the Emirati Women’s Day under the theme “Women on the Course of Zayed” to highlight their eminent role in the country’s developmental drive.
In a seminar held by the ministry to observe the occasion, Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State, underlined the essential role played by Emirati women in the country’s achievements, noting that women are part and parcel of the country’s vision to deliver the future.
“The women’s empowerment model set by the country comes in furtherance of the pioneering approach adopted by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan toward women,” he said.
Addressing the seminar, Dr. Rafi’a Ghubash reviewed the political role played by Emirati women in the country’s history.
A signing ceremony was held following the seminar for “Encyclopedia of Emirati Women”, a book authored by Dr. Ghubash, who was then honoured by Minister Nusseibeh for her prominent role in the empowerment of women in the UAE.
Marking the occasion, MoFAIC employees participated in a blood donation campaign hosted by the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, which operates under the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, for the sake of womb cancer patients.
