Mohammad orders help for senior citizen who called Ajman radio

Ajman FM anchor suspended for making fun of senior citizen who called to complain about price hikes

Dubai/Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued orders with immediate effect for the provision of all the needs of an Emirati citizen who contacted Ajman Radio’s live programme “Al Rabia Wal Nas”.

Shaikh Mohammad gave the order on Monday to meet all the requirements for a decent living for the caller and his family within the next 24 hours, and to submit an urgent report to his office.

He also ordered the Minister of Community Development to present a detailed and urgent report to the next Cabinet meeting with all the needs of citizens with low incomes and to present clear views of the ministry’s plan in this regard.

Meanwhile, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, has ordered the suspension of radio broadcaster Yaqoub Al Awadhi from working at Ajman FM Radio station.

The order was issued after the broadcaster’s rude behaviour with a senior citizen who contacted him through the programme to complain about price increases and their impact on the standard of living of citizens.

The broadcaster interrupted him during his call saying it was not true and made fun of him with rude answers.

Shaikh Ammar stressed that the purpose of the programme was to listen to callers, help them solve their issue and bring relief to them.
