AL AIN, 26th March, 2019 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, praised the local and international role of the wise leadership, represented by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in promoting tolerance.
He also praised the cooperation between the Ministry of Tolerance and higher education institutions, including UAE University, UAEU, and the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, while stressing that this cooperation is being prioritised by the ministry, with the aim of conveying the message of tolerance to all students and professors.
Sheikh Nahyan made this statement during the third edition of the ‘Knights of Tolerance Programme’, which was organised by the ministry and was held at UAEU in Al Ain. The three-day programme was attended by 40 UAEU students and the HCT’s faculty.
During the event, Sheikh Nahyan met with the programme’s participants, and listened to their ideas and visions. He also presented the ministry’s local and international initiatives and activities, which aim to create a tolerant community.
Sheikh Nahyan said that the programme is based on promoting tolerance and coexistence locally, nationally and globally, which is the responsibility of the community, individuals and institutions, as well as on the UAE’s successful international experience in promoting tolerance and coexistence, which reflects the values and actions of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and spreading awareness about the importance of encouraging giving and prosperity among the community while stressing that the programme aims to spread overall awareness of the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence and support the community in overcoming its challenges.
The programme has achieved many successes, he added while noting that the efforts of the country’s authorities and its entire community to achieve the goals of the wise leadership have enabled the programme to succeed.
