NMC, Ajman Media Free Zone discuss joint co-operation

ABU DHABI, 31st January, 2018 (WAM) — Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Media Free Zone, has received a National Media Council, NMC, delegation, headed by Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Director-General of the NMC.

During the visit, both sides discussed the means of strengthening the joint co-operation between the NMC, the federal authority responsible for developing the national media sector, and the Ajman Media Free Zone.

The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Media Free Zone, and Dr. Rashid Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Support Services at the NMC, Al Mansouri thanked Sheikh Al Nuaimi for meeting with the NMC delegation while praising his directives to establish an overall strategy for the Ajman Free Media Zone, in line with the legislation, systems and regulations issued by the UAE Cabinet to organise the work of the media between the various national media authorities.


Sheikh Al Nuaimi stated that the Ajman Media Free Zone supports total co-operation and co-ordination with the NMC, to enable the national media sector to attain the highest standards, achieve the UAE’s strategy to create a media that is capable to keeping pace with the country’s aspirations, and spread its positive image as a major player in enhancing security, peace, stability and development.

He also highlighted the importance of improving the strategic co-operation between the Ajman Media Free Zone and other media institutions and departments, as the key to success, excellence and achieving its goals and visions.

Al Mansouri said that the NMC has worked over many years to organise numerous initiatives that aim to advance the national media sector, through co-operation with various media institutions and cities while affirming the Council’s desire to provide support to the Ajman Media Free Zone and offer leading services to its investors.

The participants also discussed several areas of joint work, such as granting media licences and facilitation to investors, according to the country’s laws and regulations, as well as establishing joint strategic plans to organise, develop and elevate the performance of Ajman’s media, adopting the latest technologies in various types of media work, achieving the visions and general development plans of the wise leadership through media work, and promoting Ajman as a leading economic, tourism and media centre in the Gulf and the Middle East.
