Palestinian family of 5 killed in Lebanon fire

Beirut: A Palestinian family of five died on dawn Monday when a fire broke out in their home while they were still sleeping, the Xinhua quoted LBCI TV reports.

According to the TV report, an electric shortcircuit caused the fire that broke out in a house in the Imam Mahdi neighbourhood in the southern city of Nabatieh.


The fire led to the death of man, his wife and his three daughters, aged 16, 8 and 8 months, all of whom suffocated after inhaling the smoke of the fire.

The Civil Defence Directorate rushed to the neighborhood and managed to put off the fire and remove the bodies, which were taken to a nearby hospital.
