AJMAN, 4th April, 2019 (WAM) — Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, directed the employees of the Central Laboratory Building Project to continue working to complete the first green building in the emirate, which costs AED15 million.
He added that Ajman only accepts building applications of the highest standards, as it aims to become a new city that will attract residents and visitors from around the world.
Rashid Al Nuaimi made this statement while reviewing the progress of the project, which is being implemented according to green building requirements and in line with the vision of the department to create a sustainable environment and modern architecture, to build Ajman’s future.
He was accompanied by Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the Department, as well as executive directors of the department and several officials.
“Since the start of the project, our aim has been to build an ideal and healthy building. We constructed the building from 90 percent green concrete, which will ensure its sustainability for 20 years, reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 80 percent, maintain air quality and reduce pollution. We have assigned a working team to oversee the use of resources, which will also reduce energy use, as well as install electricity-saving air conditioning systems that are 40 percent more efficient compared to normal air conditioning systems. We have also installed a solar panel system and water conservation system, to improve water drainage and benefit from agriculture,” Rashid Al Nuaimi said.
He also noted that 40 percent of the project has been completed while highlighting the fact that the building will include construction material, industrial material and consumption material labs, as well as four other labs, to fulfil the needs of customers.
