Reem Al Falasi launches ‘Parents Conference’

DUBAI, 27th February, 2019 (WAM) — Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, stated that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), is the ideal mother who raised a generation who are looking forward to the future, and is constantly guiding mothers to prioritise the care of their children.

“We, in the UAE, have learnt a great deal from the founder of our state, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah Almighty rest his soul, as well as from Sheikha Fatima, the “Mother of the UAE,” who is a pioneer and global advocate for women and children, and is still active in this area. She is someone who is constantly guiding mothers to raise their children, as they are the present and future,” Al Falasi said, during a speech at a forum organised by the Pakistan Association at its headquarters in Dubai.

“Last year, we celebrated the year of Zayed Al Khair, or Zayed the Good, to always remember his legacy that urges coexistence and tolerance, which are the cornerstone of our lives and the future of our children,” she added.

“Sheikha Fatima always emphasised the responsibility of mothers and fathers to raise future generations, so they must be provided with the knowledge and tools to learn and grow, especially as we are witnessing many radical changes in our lives, such as the digital transformation that combines good and bad. This directly affects the lives of our children. As mothers, we must be with our children everywhere,” Al Falasi explained.

“It is our primary duty to take care of the wellbeing of children, by ensuring that they are getting the right nutrition at a young age, thus, raising children who are resistant to chronic diseases in the future and reducing the incidence of other diseases,” she further added.

“This will only be realised through active motherhood, which will provide children with stability and health, as well as improve their ability to receive an education,” she said in conclusion.
