RTA honours female leaders in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day

DUBAI, 28th August, 2018 (WAM) — The Women’s Committee of the Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, in Dubai held a host of events marking Emirati Women’s Day launched by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).

The day is celebrated on 28th August to commemorate the establishment of the GWU in 1975, and this year’s event is themed, “Women on the Course of Zayed.”


Moaza Al Marri, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication and the Chairperson of the Women’s Committee at the RTA, said, “It is great that our celebrations of Emirati Women’s Day this year themed, ‘Women on the Course of Zayed,’ are held in conjunction with the Year of Zayed initiative.

“The RTA views female employees as essential and vital contributors to the achievement of the RTA’s strategic objectives. Emirati women are living their golden age as they are privileged by the unlimited support of our leaders who spared no effort in empowering and assisting them to take the highest positions at all levels. They have become key partners in the modern urbanisation of the UAE.

“To mark the event, several pioneer female employees of the RTA have been felicitated for their innovative efforts in steering the RTA’s strategic drive. A discussion panel was held hosting one of the RTA’s female leaders to shed light on her professional career.

“The RTA is always keen on enriching and empowering female staff to make them more confident in their abilities. It offers them exposure to innovative programmes to nurture a work environment that adds to their happiness and career path in the RTA,” Al Marri said in conclusion.
