· Executive role:
As a member of the management team contributes toward formulation and implementation of the operational plans that enable achievement of company’s overall business plans. Develop and finds approval for sales and marketing plans in support of achievement of the company’s overall business plans.
· Leadership and Motivation:
Manages the sales team providing leadership, encouraging teamwork and directing the teams in order to achieve consistent and high quality performance and staff pride in execution of tasks.
Discuss and approves all the support from the other department to ensure the necessary processes including customer credit limits over limits, overdue, stock allocations sales force requirements are in a place.
· Sales forecast:
Provides sales forecasts for development of production plans based on market demands and works in close coordination with the production team ensuring plans are realistic and based on the plant availability and capacity.
Prepares the annual budgets in own area of responsibility, ensuring that adequate funding provision are the made for all activities and mentors expenditure to ensure budgets are utilised in the most effective and efficient manner and are within approved levels.
· Sales Strategy:
Develops and executes all aspects of sales strategy including pricing, product mix, merchandising, channel development, distribution etc. to ensure achievement of top line and bottom in sales targets and growth in market share.
· Customer relationship:
Oversees all aspects of customer relationship activities including development of customer data and contacts in order to ensure strong client relationships convert into retained customers and growth in market share.
· Market Development:
Oversees the market development activities including conducting regular market research and production of reports and studies in order to ensure that the company’s boards retain and enhance their market value.
· Sales Collections:
Monitors operation of sales collection activity and ensures adherence to company credit policy in order to meet collection targets and minimising bad debts
· Team Building :
Recruits, develops and motivates personnel with the specific objectives of increasing departmental expertise and ensuring potential for advancement is identified and necessary training is provided.
Execute activities related to his/her function in safe and environmental friendly methods.
