Samaliya Island Spring Forum kicks-off Sunday

ABU DHABI, 15th December, 2018 (WAM) — The 2018 Samaliya Island Spring Forum will launch on Sunday, announced the Emirates Heritage Club, EHC. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative, this year’s event programme will host a foray of cultural, artistic, and heritage-focused activities with the aim to introduce young Emiratis and residents to the UAE’s history, and how their ancestors once lived.

Rashid Khadem Al-Rumaithi, Head of the Centres Affairs Department at the EHC, explained that the forum comes in response to Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed’s keenness to preserve the UAE’s heritage, and to share with the young, how the nation’s forefathers lived so that they too carry forward their legacies and values.

Taking place on Samaliya Island in Abu Dhabi, along with other locations associated with the EHC, the first week of the forum will entail registration processes and the formation of teams, followed by workshops and activities on a myriad number of topics that are relevant to UAE heritage, including falconry, poetry, customs and traditions, coffee-making, and equestrian sports.
