Saudi national bags $1 million in Dubai

Dubai: A resident  of Saudi Arabia has made himself Dh3.6 million richer after hitting the jackpot of one of the UAE’s major lottery draws.

Mohammed Al Hajri, a Saudi national based in Riyadh was declared the latest dollar millionaire winning the $1 million prize in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire draw.

Al Hajri purchased the lucky ticket online last May 30, and when he was informed about his fortune, he sounded pleasantly surprised.

“Thank you Dubai Duty Free for the good news. This is my first time to win in any draw, so I am truly delighted”, said Al Hajri.

Another draw participant, Leslie Fernandes, also won a BMW X6 in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Promotion.

Fernandes is a 46-year-old expatriate working as a service engineer for an oil and gas company in Dubai and a regular buyer of Dubai Duty Free tickets.

“This is such a fantastic news and a wonderful surprise as I am celebrating my birthday today. This is simply amazing, and thank you Dubai Duty Free for truly making my day”

Another participant scoring a BMW S 1000 RR motorbike is Musthafa C.V. Musthafa could not be reached for comment.
