Dubai: Funeral processions to cemeteries will now be escorted by police patrols, officials announced on Sunday.
The Sharjah Police General Directorate explained that to avoid traffic jams near the cemetery, police patrols will be allocated to escort funeral processions.
Sharjah’s main cemetery is located near Industrial Area 6.
According to police, patrols will divert traffic and have the words “Our condolences,” pasted on its vehicles.
Sharjah Police added that the initiative was carried out with the cooperation of various municipalities as part of its role in offering services to the community.
