ABU DHABI, 30th April, 2019 (WAM) — H.H. Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan and H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, today witnessed the lunch and signing of several literary works, including children’s books, by promising Emirati authors at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC,” on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Book Fair.
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, attended the event.
The children’s books include “The Desert Knights” by Sheikh Zayed bin Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “I am a Person of Determination” by Sheikh Zayed bin Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “Our Father Zayed” by Sheikh Zayed bin Ahmed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “Hunting Trip” by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “My Story with Ramadan” by Sheikha Rawdha bint Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “The Stars’ Dream” by Sheikh Khalifa bin Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “My Trip to Italy” by Sheikha Salama bint Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “My Trip to Seychelles” by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, “The Beach in Seychelles” by Sheikha Shamma bint Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other literary works publications by the Sheikh Khalifa Empowerment Programme, Aqdar.
They also witnessed the signing of books written by 19 Emirati children published by Aqdar, which discuss the values of loyalty, sacrifice and dedication to the nation and its leadership, and showcase the UAE’s history and tourism sites.
Suroor bin Mohammed and Sheikh Saif then honoured the winners in the “Aqdar Competition for People of Determination,” which is part of Aqdar’s mission to empower the youth, improve their skills, and raise their awareness.
Aqdar was launched in cooperation with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, ZHO.
Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, ZHO; Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai; Habib Al Sayegh, Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers, and others attended the signing and honouring ceremonies.
