ABU DHABI, 19th June, 2018 (WAM) — Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Hosny, Director-General of the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority, NCEMA, said that the UAE is a humanitarian model among leading countries of establishing bridges of rescue and supporting people affected by disasters and wars.

In his statement on the approval of the UAE Cabinet of a decision to grant one-year residency permits to citizens of countries suffering from wars and disasters, he added that the UAE is always keen to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by conflicts and disasters. He went on to note that the Cabinet decision reflects the giving of the UAE leadership.

He said that the nation continues to help provide shelter and assistance to individuals in need, regardless of their political beliefs, race or creed. The one-year residency permit is based on a relevant national article and will exempt beneficiaries from any resulting fines, which will provide individuals with decent and stable living conditions and will assist relevant humanitarian organisations, he concluded.
