UAE Ambassador meets Bahraini Electricity and Water Minister

MANAMA, 7th May, 2018 (WAM) — The UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has met with the Bahraini Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs, Dr Abdulhussain bin Ali? Mirza???, and discussed issues of mutual interest.

The Bahraini Minister welcomed the ambassador, praising the strong relations between the two countries, which are reinforced by joint cooperation across various sectors, especially the electricity, water and renewable energy fields. He also wished the ambassador success in carrying out his duties.

The two sides reviewed the most important projects that are implemented in the electricity, water and renewable energy fields. Minister Mirza gave a presentation on the projects of the Electricity and Water Authority, the Sustainable Energy Unit in Bahrain, National Energy Efficiency Action Plan, as well as some important projects such as the construction of a 100-megawatt solar plant project. He also reviewed investment opportunities available to UAE companies.

The UAE Ambassador expressed his pleasure to see such great progress made by Bahrain and expressed the keenness of the UAE companies to participate in those projects and enhance mutual cooperation.
