UAE and Portugal sign MoU on public administration

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the signing of a MoU between the UAE and Portugal to enhance cooperation in the field of developing public administration.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, was also present.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and Chairman of World Government Summit (WGS), asserted that the UAE Government is keen to enhance cooperation with countries that share the same vision towards better future.

The MoU was signed by Al Gergawi and Portugal’s Minister of the Presidency and of Administrative Modernisation Maria Manuel Leitao Marques on the sidelines of the sixth World Government Summit 2018.

Al Gergawi highlighted the importance of this step that reflects the leadership’s vision towards boosting UAE’s global position by constructing new partnerships that help promote best governance practices.

The MoU furnishes for a better collaboration and knowledge sharing between UAE and Portugal in fields of public governance, digitization and e-government; sectors that enhance happiness and quality of life while motivating innovation and excellence. According the MoU, a joint committee will be formed to oversee the implementation of the agreement.
