UAE flag a symbol of unity of Emirati people: Nahyan bin Mubarak

ABU DHABI, 1st November, 2018 (WAM) — Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance, has said that “Flag Day” is a national occasion that aims to strengthen the patriotism of the Emirati people and encourage them to work hard in all areas to reinforce the UAE’s stature.

He made this statement after raising the country’s flag at the Ministry of Tolerance, in the presence of Afraa Al Saberi, Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Acting Executive Director of the National Tolerance Programme, and several religious, intellectual and local leaders, as well as employees of the ministry.

The event was attended by around 100 students from over 20 nationalities from the Abu Dhabi Police Academy, the Al Yasmina Academy of Al-Dar Academy and the Emirates National School, as well as students from the Zayed Higher Institute for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, who praised the national occasion.

Sheikh Nahyan said that the celebration is an opportunity for everyone to express their love and appreciation for the nation’s flag.

“During this celebration, we are proud of the role of our leader and Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We are also proud of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates,” he added.
