UAE, Germany boosting security cooperation

DUBAI, 26th January, 2018 (WAM) — Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, has commended the privileged security coordination channels between the UAE and Germany in areas of crime-fighting.

Al Marri made the remarks during his visit to Bavaria, Germany, during which he met Professor Dr. Wilhelm Schmidbauer, Head of the Bavaria State Police.

During the meeting, Al Marri underscored the importance of maintaining the exchange of knowledge and expertise through increasing regular visits by the two countries’ officials, which he said, is likely to boost knowledge and technology transfer in areas of artificial intelligence, and its applications on crime fighting and forecasting and speedy detection of crimes.

The two sides agreed to activate joint cooperation programmes for the Dubai Police to benefit from the advanced German expertise in analysing crime factors, and the use of drones in ensuring crime and traffic safety. The two sides also agreed on organising workshops in Dubai on different security disciplines.
