UMM AL QAIWAIN, 22nd February, 2018 (WAM) — The General Secretariat of the Umm Al Qaiwain Executive Council has announced the appointments of Innovation CEOs of local government authorities, in line with the directives of the UAE Government to strengthen the culture of innovation in the institutional work environment.
Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council, highlighted the importance of promoting innovation among government authorities, as it is the key to leadership and motivates and involves employees to create innovating solutions to challenges. It also helps to develop government work, according to a future vision that supports the country goals, as well as to advance the community and promote the UAE’s leading position among world’s most innovative countries, he added.
Al Shamsi stressed that the decision to appoint Innovation CEOs is part of the outcomes of the government’s work development model and 100 days of planning to promote the efforts of government authorities while noting that the main duties of the CEOs are to advance the innovation process in the Umm Al Qaiwain Government and harmonise the national innovation strategy with the outcomes of the emirate’s government development model.
The recently-launched Umm Al Qaiwain Innovation Award will have a key role in the coming period in improving the performance of government and non-government sectors, he said in conclusion.
