Two new Apple shops have been officially opened at Dubai Duty Free in Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3, and are said to be the largest in travel retail in the world.
Located next to gates B15 and A12, they cover a footprint of 86 and 70 sq m respectively and offer the full Apple ecosystem.
The opening of the new shops has resulted in an increase in sales of 8 per cent for Apple products, a figure which is expected to rise further, Dubai Duty Free said in a statement.
“Based on our current sales projections, we expect Apple sales to reach Dh220 million (US$61m) this year,” said Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and chief executive of Dubai Duty Free, who conducted the opening along with David Chisholm, Apple director of sales for Apple Middle East & Africa.
Mr McLoughlin added: “With the Apple shop programme in Concourse B being the largest in any travel retail in the world, this is a very exciting development for Dubai Duty Free and our customers.”
