TOKYO, 11th August, 2026 (WAM) — The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency successfully launched an H3 rocket carrying the Michibiki No. 7 positioning satellite from the Tanegashima Space Centre.
The Michibiki satellites are part of Japan’s Quasi-Zenith Satellite System (QZSS), a positioning system similar to the Global Positioning System (GPS).
The satellite successfully reached its orbit and is scheduled to enter operational service in six months.
